Well I can go back slightly on what I said about moving sucking, I don’t so much mind the moving side of things, it was the leaving all my friends in Lincoln that sucked so …

Big things happening

finalcutproIt’s been a while since I posted anything on here and a lot has happened since I last posted.Things are going very well in life at the moment and I seriously hope things contunue to go well and keep getting better. I now have a new girlfriend Claire who is amazing, my uni work is going really well and it’s not boring in the slightest, with the exception of a radio unit I really don’t want to do as I have no interest in the subject, and my media production has taken a turn for the better.

As I’m doing an audio degree at Lincoln Uni we have been set a year long project in a group of 4 to take a bands single all the way from nothing to producing a full single, and hopefully get it out there for people to buy. This is a great project I think as it’s exactly what I want to do eventually so will give me much needed experience in dealing with bands that aren’t actually my own band, or a band I’m involved with personally. I’ve been nominated as producer for the record as I have knowledge of ProTools and have recorded, mixed, and mastered a few tracks before. The other members in the group are relying on my knowledge of the hardware and software to complete the project and hopefully take it further than just a uni project.

Things as of today are still in the planning stage but I can’t wait to get the band in and start recording, it’s going to be a great time I think.

Well as for media production, another of my uni assignments is to create a music video for a track. Megan and I were setting ourselves up to produce our own song and record a video for that, and then an amazing thing happened and one of our friends at uni pointed a band manager Chris in our direction. This then turned into us meeting with Chris and Little Imp band, which is a local Lincoln band looking to do a music video for their single "Patience". It just so happened that the ideas we had come up with for our own music video was pretty much spot on with what they wanted their video to include, we couldn’t have hoped for a better meeting really.

Megan and I are now in the process of story boarding the entire video, and production is going to begin in the next week or so. I’m really looking forward to this one as it means I get to play with Maya, Final Cut Studio 2, and Shake 4.1 on my Mac, which I’ve been waiting to do for months! There will be more on this as things happen as this is a biggy in my book, and could get me very interested in motion graphics again.

Well that about covers everything that’s going on at the moment, unfotunately my development work has come to a stand still for now, as it just doesn’t fit with anything I’m doing at present. This will continue once things calm down a fair bit with my life. Development of this site will probably be in the next few months with hopefully a new look site being released around new year if I can convice Claire to do the design work for me, with a few extra features, if I have time to develop the modules. Luckily Claire is a graphics and illustration student at uni so I can fall to her for some good looking site designs in the future, finally no more of my poor attempts at design!

Check back for more soon.

Cheers, Adam.
